Ruth’s House serves homeless women who seek to find success and transformation in their lives through recovery from drugs and alcohol. Women must meet the criteria of being both homeless and addicted. The program of Ruth’s House is a six month intensive and holistic recovery program that works to support every aspect of a woman’s life, not just the addiction. We believe that the women of Ruth’s House are more than just addicts! We look at the entire package; family, employment, goals, dreams, and hopes, physical and mental health, spiritual well-being and nutrition. Each week our women meet one on one with a counselor that specializes in treating addictions and trauma. Additionally, each individual works with the money manager to develop a budget and to learn how to manage her money. All women are required to attend one twelve step meeting daily while also attending group therapy and a house meeting weekly.
To apply women must meet the following criteria to be considered for residency at Ruth’s House.
1. Must be homeless
2. Must be addicted to drugs and/or alcohol
3. Must be 30 days clean from all substances (including prescribed narcotic medication)
We take referrals from the justice system, treatment centers, hospital, churches, and other shelters. Please contact us to find out more information about our referral criteria.
** We are not currently accepting applications due to our suspension of services**
