Ruth’s House is a nine months (minimum) transitional housing program for homeless women in the Evansville, Indiana area. The mission of Reflecting Waters Inc. is to provide a compassionate place where addicted individuals can rebuild their lives. We do this by providing Ruth’s House, a program rooted in rebuilding relationships as a way to promote and discover recovery from their addictions. We encourage relationship building in four areas.

• First, we require women to attend at least one twelve step meeting daily and to become actively involved in the recovery community in Evansville. They must meet with a sponsor and work the twelve steps.
• Second, we require that the women find and retain employment. They need to see that they can play a positive role in our community and that they can provide for themselves. 
• Third, we require that they get to know and invest in the lives of those they are living with, in our program.  The women live in community. Our home is set up as a single family residence and promotes gathering and conversation. They are able to connect with each other and lend support since many have similar stories and challenges. 
• Finally, we encourage them to become involved in a local church. We believe that if they can build relationships with other believers then they have a better chance long term.

Not only are women asked to build relationships and be involved in the community but we offer many services inside the home as well. We offer resume’ building opportunities, job searching help, internet navigation lessons, and individual and group counseling each week. We collaborate with the Lampion Center to provide one hour of individual therapy to each woman weekly and one hour of group therapy weekly.
